Hi Ghosthunter,
Well this depends on the type of tag being used. One type is a pit tag, this is a small little tag that is injected into the animal. The other type is a tag attached to the outside of the animal that is attached by collar, or stuck to the animal.
In the desert, we do it in the shade.
