Yes. Though it has not been part of my research, I have helped others working in the same type of science as I am on their projects which are to do with the oceans.
This is one of the great things about science, even though the field that you may work in doesn’t allow you to do some types of science, often the networks and friends you create mean that you can help others.
For example, a friend of mine studies water on mars and the formation of dunes, but he will sometimes come with me into the field. Another friend works on sea snakes, and I have been able to go with her and help out at times.
