Question: why does a goldfish only have a two second memory because other animals or fish could have the same size brain and don't have a two second memory

    Actually Goldfish have a much longer memory than that. Its really only a myth that goldfish have such short memories. Just like most animals, goldfish can be trained when rewarded with food proving they have a memory that lasts.

    As James has pointed out, it really is a myth.

    However there is a condition called anterograde amnesia. If you have this it basically means you cannot committ new events to memory.
