Hey pnemo. One of the problems with these guys is that if you do have a cut/wound in the mouth, these bugs can enter your blood system and re-populate around the heart causing some potentially serious heart inflammation. Yep, go and clean your teeth!!
Hi pnemo,
You really like scientific names, don’t you? 🙂
Ok, so we all know what Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans is but no one has actually said what it is! If anyone is interested in reading what it actually is, A.actinomycetemcomitans is a bacterium that can be found in the mouth! It is associated periodontal diseases such as ‘localised aggressive periodontitis’, which affects mainly the gums.
Pffft, you know this…
It’s one of the 600+ species of bacteria that live in your mouth. Because the conditions in your mouth are perfect for bacteria grown (warm, wet, dark, full of nutrients) you can support a very large flora and in a single millilitre (about half a coke bottle lid) of saliva there is approximately 100 million individual bacterial cells!
Hi Pnemono
I think you know exactly what it is, now go and brush your teeth.
