Question: if you recieved $600,000,000,000, what would you do with it? would you continue your career in science?

  1. Nope. I would retire happily but use the money to fund research and science communication. Probably pay off a few bills too 🙂

  2. Hi Shadycactus,

I would use the money and work with others to improve this world, helping feed people, bringing education to people and so on. I would still work in science and do science communication, its what i love doing.

  3. Absolutely I’d continue working. It would just mean that I could set up my own institution, staff it with the best people in the world, and work on whatever I wanted to without ever having to worry about writing another grant proposal. PERFECT! I’d probably also send a fair fraction of it to organisations that do some good in the world.

  4. Hi Shadycactus6,
I think I would keep working in science in some way because I like it, but I would try to use the money to help out as many people as possible. I would use it and work with other people/organisations to try to wipe out things like poverty and starvation, and get medical treatments etc to people who need them most (like people who can’t currently afford them or those who are in isolated areas), and to get equal access to education for everyone. I would also fund research into lots of diseases (so that we could hopefully wipe out some of them), and also into other things that can help to make our quality of life better. Whatever I do with it, I would want to help make the world a better place for everyone who lives here (except disease-causing organisms!).
