Well this depends on the animal, because though we can replicate some species requirements pretty well, other species we have no hope of replicating.

So it really depends on the animal.

With smaller reptiles we can replicate their environment very well and they exhibit natural behaviours.

Having said that, the behaviour of animals in captivity is likely not ever going to be exactly like it is in the wild.
